I told you that we started feeding our boxer BLUE Wilderness, well not anymore. He could not get used to the food and started having liquidy stool. BLUE Wilderness seems to have too much protein, maybe it is more appropriate for dogs that live outside or are true working dogs. We now feed him Royal Canin for Boxers and he has no problems with it. It is designed with boxers in mind and is made in Ontario, Canada. We are glad to support our local economy!

We are Gwenstone Mastiffs and located in Central New Jersey, close to Six Flags Great Adventure. My husband has been involved with Mastiffs since 1982 and was the founder of the Mastiff Club Belgium. I became involved with Mastiffs in early 1988 and was Secretary of the North & East Mastiff Fanciers (now, GSMF) as well as Mastiff Rescue coordinator for NJ. Our lines are from Holland, Belgium and Scotland as well as Greiner Hall. We love this breed and do our best to promote the Mastiff and breeding according to what the Standard dictates and not to what is winning in the show ring.

I also feed my Poodles raw and what a huge difference it makes, not only in their health but in the puppies that we produce. The litters have much more compact afterbirth and in tact with very little fluid or blood. I have tried many dog food but never got the continued consistency of health that I have with the RAW. Also the stool do not stink and neither does the urine. The teeth are much stronger and healthier. I no longer have puppies getting such things as Giardia, Coccidiosis or any other of the puppy bacterias. After five years of success youwould be hard pressed to get me to switch back. Besides if you look around you can find resources and you do not need a huge freezer to store. We pick up fresh every week and our local grocery store acts as our freezers for us. Recently I was in a PetSmart after not being in there for a very long time and was horrified at the cost of quality dog food. It cost me half the amount of processed dog food to feed my crew and a much better quality of food. Go RAW.

It's so nice to finally "see" someone else feeding Diamond! I feed Diamond Naturals Chicken and Rice for my adults and DN Large Breed Puppy to my puppies. I love the quality, and it's the "best bang for your buck" nutritionally. We also supplement with raw weekly. I'd love to go raw completely, but it's just not financially (or enough freezer space) reasonable. I also can't imagine what new puppy owners would do (probably freak out) if I sent them home with raw.

I'm on the line right now as to switch foods again. I'm thinking of going to the Nutro Natural Choice. At least for my puppies. We had a run in with bacterial infections and giardia, and their stomachs haven't been the same since. I'm thinking about switching one of the puppies to this to see if it makes a difference in the poop. If it does, I just may switch all the puppies. I hate having to feed a bunch of different brands/varieties to the dogs, but you gotta do what you've gotta do!

I've fed a variety of foods over the years, but here within the past 5 years, it seems I switch brands about once a year....

When you say, "I was so wrapped up in students that I went into private training"...what exactly does that mean? You were doing classes and now you just do one-on-ones with individual dogs?
