Dog Too Lazy to Walk

by K9Ring October 21, 2009 17:52

This Bulldog (most likely their owner Wink) seems to not understand the concept of walking a dog. A dog has four legs and they are used for walking. This owner apparently thinks that their dog is too precious to walk or they literally think that their dog is their child. He looks like he is still puppy and if he does not have an illness, there is no reason why he should not walk. Dogs that sit all day in the house, or in this case, sit in a baby stroller outside when supposed to walk become overweight easily and can have serious health problems. She is not doing any favor to this dog, just making him more immobile.

Sadly, this is not the first time I have seen a person doing this. In a park nearby while walking my boxer, I have seen a woman walk with two Yorkies in an enclosed type of a stroller and they were jumping and barking loudly as she was walking. One of them was showing his frustration by chewing the mesh and trying to get out. They were perfectly healthy dogs and capable of walking, but their owner preferred to push them in a stroller for an unknown reason. Just remember, dogs need to run and need daily exercise to stay healthy and walking them in a stroller will only make you look ridiculous and your dog unhappy.

I use a stroller for my dog after we have walked between 5 and 6 miles, I want to walk more but he doesn't as he's small and gets tired after going that far.  He lays or sits in the stroller and also he's quiter and feels safe in it as he's scared of other dogs.  If someone has a problem with me doing that, then they should ask me and I'll tell thenm just that, then kick their butt.
