Best In Show Winner of 2010 Westminster Kennel Club Dog Show

The Best In Show winner of the 134th Westminster Kennel Club Dog Show is Ch Roundtown Mercedes Of Maryscot, a 4-year-old Scottish Terrier called Sadie. Judge Elliot Weiss said: "This is the complete dog ... That's what you want a Scottie to look like." He continued with saying: "Her breed character is fabulous — she thinks very highly of herself. Her coat is absolutely breathtaking."

Sadie's win was not a surprise. Unlike Stump, the last year's best in show winner, Sadie was the favorite for the best in show honors. She was the #1 ranked dog in the country going into the competition, followed by the Doberman as the #2 ranked dog.

Sadie made history by joining scores of other terriers as the winningest group in WKC history. Terriers won nearly half of the events since the show began.

The final round featured a protest just as the Doberman finished her showing. Two women rushed to center stage, holding signs over their heads. One said, “Mutts Rule”, a reference to the "Dogs rule" ad campaign that has run throughout the competition. The second said, “Breeders Kill Shelter Dogs.”

This year's competition saw 2,500 entrants representing 173 breeds and varieties. Other breeds vying for the big prize on Tuesday were a Toy Poodle, a Puli, a Whippet, a French Bulldog and a Brittany.
