Question: I am not a breeder. Do I need to register in order to search for
a breeder/dog or to be able to interact with breeders?
Answer: No, you do not
need to register. Only dog breeders should register in order to use all of the features
available to breeders. Registered users can create breeder profiles, dog profiles,
manage their Message Wall, manage their Friends list, upload photos, etc. If you
are just looking for a dog breeder, you can use the search tool as well as send
and post messages on the breeders' profile pages. When sending or posting messages,
you will need to provide your e-mail address and full name.
Question: Do I need to register in order to use the discussion forums?
Answer: Yes, you do need
to register in order to use our discussion forums. If you are already a registered
user and a breeder, then you should use your existing login information
to log into the forums. Note for Already Registered Breeders:
When logging into the forums, open K9Ring.com's index page first (www.k9ring.com)
and log in from there. Then, click on the 'Forums' link which will automatically
log you into the forums. If you are a breeder and want to use the forums but
have not registered yet, please register by clicking
here. If you are not a breeder, then you should register
through the 'Register' link on the forums' page to use the forums.
Question: How do I change my profile picture?
Answer: Log into your account
and click "Edit Profile" on your profile page. Under "Profile Picture", click the
"Browse..." button and select the picture you want to upload. The picture has to
be in .jpg format and less than 4 MB. Finally, click the "Upload Profile Picture"
button to upload your picture.
Question: How do I change my kennel's description?
Answer: Log into your account
and click "Edit Profile" on your profile page. Under "Description", type your description
and click the "Update Description" button to add/update your description.
Question: How do I add news or an accomplishment to my profile page?
Answer: Log into your account
and click "Edit Profile" on your profile page. Under "Add News", type your news
and click the "Add News" button to add news to your profile page. To add an accomplishment,
follow the same steps, but this time under the "Add Accomplishment" box.
Question: How do I remove news or an accomplishment from my profile page?
Answer: Log into your account
and click on the red 'x' button next to the news or accomplishment you want to delete.
When a dialog box opens, click the OK button to delete the news or accomplishment.
Question: How do I update the list of services I offer?
Answer: Log into your account
and click "Edit Profile" on your profile page. Under "Services", check the checkboxes
for the services that you offer and then click the "Update Services" button.
Question: How do I add or remove dog breeds to/from my account?
Answer: Log into your account
and click "Edit Profile" on your profile page. Under "Add/Remove Breeds", you will
see a drop-down list of the current breeds that you have added. To add more breeds,
select a breed from the drop-down list that says "Select a breed to add" and click
the "Add Breed" button. Repeat this step for as many breeds that you want to add.
To remove a breed from you current breeds list, select the breed from the 1st drop-down
list and click the "Remove Breed" button.
Question: How do I remove a user from my Friends list?
Answer: Log into your account
and click "Edit Profile" on your profile page. Under "Remove a User from Friends",
select the user you wish to remove from the drop-down list and click the "Remove"
button.
Question: Where do I change my personal information such as my address and
phone number?
Answer: Log into your account
and click "Edit User Info" on your profile page. Under "Personal Information", click
the "Edit" button. Update your information and click the "Update Personal Information"
button.
Question: Where do I change my password?
Answer: Log into your account
and click "Edit User Info" on your profile page. Under "Change Password", click
the "Change password >>" link. Type in your current password in the "Password" field,
and the new password in the "New Password" and "Confirm New Password" fields. Click
the "Change Password" button.
Question: Where do I set my time zone?
Answer: Log into your account
and click "Edit User Info" on your profile page. Under "Time Zone", select your
time zone from the drop-down list and click the "Set Time Zone" button.
Question: How do I add a "Skype Me!" button to my profile page?
Answer: Log into your account
and click "Edit User Info" on your profile page. Under "Add a Skype Button", enter
your Skype name in the "Skype name" field and click the "Add/Update Skype Me Button"
button.
Question: How do I hide my e-mail address from other users?
Answer: Log into your account
and click "Edit User Info" on your profile page. Under "Preferences", uncheck the
"Show my e-mail address to other K9Ring.com users." checkbox and click the "Update
Preferences" button.
Question: How do I add/remove dogs to/from my profile?
Answer: Log into your account
and click the "Add/Remove a dog" link on your profile page. Enter your dog's information
and click the "Create Profile" button. To remove a dog from your profile, click
the "Add/Remove a dog" link on your profile page and under "Delete a Canine Profile",
select the dog you wish to remove and click the "Remove Dog" button.
Question: How do I change a dog's profile picture?
Answer: Log into your account
and click on the the dog image under "Dogs" on your profile page. Click "Edit Profile",
and under "Dog Profile Picture", click "Browse.." to select a picture and click
the "Upload Dog Profile Picture" button to upload the picture.
Question: How do I add a description for a dog?
Answer: Log into your account
and click on the the dog image under "Dogs" on your profile page. Click "Edit Profile",
and under "Description", type your description and click the "Update Description"
button.
Question: How do I add news for a dog?
Answer: Log into your account
and click on the the dog image under "Dogs" on your profile page. Click "Edit Profile",
and under "Add News", type your news and click the "Add News" button.
Question: How do I add an award for a dog?
Answer: Log into your account
and click on the the dog image under "Dogs" on your profile page. Click "Edit Profile",
and under "Add Award", type your award and click the "Add an Award" button.
Question: How do I change dog's information?
Answer: Log into your account
and click on the the dog image under "Dogs" on your profile page. Click "Edit Dog
Info", and under "Dog Information", click the "Edit" button and change the dog's
information. Click the "Update Dog Information" button to save the changes.
Question: How do I add a dog photo that will be visible in the Gallery?
Answer: Log into your account
and click on the the dog image under "Dogs" on your profile page. Click the "Add
a Photo", link under "Photos". Click the "Browse..." button to select the photo
you want to upload for this dog and supply the iformation below. Click on the "Upload
Dog Photo" once ready to upload the dog photo. This photo will also be visible from
the main Gallery page.
Question: The picture I am trying to upload is larger than 4 MB in size.
How can I make it a smaller size?
Answer: You can download
a free program from Google called Picasa. Visit
http://picasa.google.com to download the program. To decrease the file's
size, open the picture in Picasa by double-clicking on the picture in the Library.
Then open File > Export Picture to Folder... Change the size of the picture in pixels
to 640 pixels (width), and choose the image quality from the drop-down menu (e.g.
Normal). Specify the location of the exported folder and click OK.
Question: What do I need to have to be able to experience this website to
the fullest?
Answer: You need to have
a browser that supports and has JavaScript enabled, AJAX, Cascading Style Sheets
(CSS), and Adobe Flash Player. Browsers that were tested and are supported: Internet
Explorer 6+, Firefox 2+, Opera 9+, and Safari 3+.
Question: I am not receiving any emails from K9Ring.com even though I set
in Preferences to receive emails from your website. Why is that?
Answer: First, make sure
that the emails do not go into the Spam folder. To ensure that you will receive
all of our emails, move any emails from us that you found in the Spam folder to
the Inbox folder and mark them as not spam. Second, add our email address to your
address book. If the email address you signed up with is incorrect, then please
update your email address from your profile page by clicking 'Edit User Info'.
Question: How do I hide my address and ZIP/Postal code from other users?
Answer: Log into your account
and click "Edit User Info" on your profile page. Under "Preferences", uncheck the
"Show my address and ZIP/Postal code to other K9Ring.com users." checkbox and click
the "Update Preferences" button.
Question: How do I add YouTube videos to my profile page?
Answer: Log into your account
and you will be taken to your profile page. On your profile page on the left-had
side, click on the link "add video »" and you will be taken to a page where you
will be able to enter the URL of your YouTube video, title, description, and tags.
Once you have entered the information, click "Submit Video" button to submit the
video. You will get a message in green upon successful submission. Go back to your
profile page and you will see your video in the "Videos" box.
Question: How do I create/update a dog's pedigree (PRO/PRO+ accounts only)?
Answer: Log into your account
and you will be taken to your profile page. On your profile page under Dogs, click
on the dog for which you wish to create a pedigree and the dog's profile page will
open. On that page, there is a link called "Create/Update Dog's Pedigree »". Click
it and enter the names of the sires and dams that you know and their IDs if they
are also registered on K9Ring.com. Finally, click "Create/Update Pedigree" button
to create/update the pedigree.
Question: How do I delete a dog's pedigree (PRO/PRO+ accounts only)?
Answer: Log into your account
and you will be taken to your profile page. On your profile page under Dogs, click
on the dog for which you wish to create a pedigree and the dog's profile page will
open. On that page, there is a link called "Create/Update Dog's Pedigree »". Click
it and then click "Delete Pedigree" button to delete the pedigree.
Question: How do I post a puppy for sale ad (PRO+ accounts only)?
Answer: Log into your account
and click on the 'VIEW PUPPIES FOR SALE' button on your profile page. Click 'Post
Puppy Ad' button on the left-hand side and fill out the form. Click 'Post Ad' to
post the ad. Now, other visitors will be able to find your puppy for sale ad.
Question: How do I edit my existing puppy for sale ad (PRO+ accounts only)?
