We first contacted Jim after we had read an article in the local paper about his success with Brodie in the field. We had been searching for a male Gordon of good standing in hopes of breeding our female. Temperment was very important to us as well as all the asthetic attributes. We had met a few potential studs but held off seriously persuing a litter as none of the studs really met our ideal. Lo and behold along comes Brodie and his wonderful personality and temperment along with a impressive list of accomplishements in both the ring and field. Jim also is very attentive to the integrity of the breed. We then had no doubt who we would choose for a sire. From our experience we know Jim to be a respected and devoted dog owner with the integrity to go along with it. He and his wife Joyce have been nothing but helpful in our new venture into the Gordon Setter world (we were involved with retrievers prior) and can not thank them enough for their experience and knowledge.

James MacWalter is a high-quality breeder. He puts a lot of time and effort into his dog and it shows. Anyone would be lucky to be associated with this breeder.
